My message in this post, in it's simplest words
is; DON'T GO THERE!
Don't go there on
business, don't go there on pleasure, just don't go there. If you have family
there and know Mexico, you have a chance to get in and out because you know the
land, the people, and the culture. And if you look Mexican, you will blend in
and may have a chance to escape sudden violence. If you are a white, black,
red, or any of the brown Asians….well, like me you are not going to blend
in, you're going to stick out….and there is risk you will become a victim.
I have several sources of information which
flow across my desk on a weekly basis, some in general, some in detail, and for
the past several months they all indicate Mexico is not a good place for
Americans to be at this time.
Without this
information, if one just reads the local papers and other news sources, we can
easily put together what is going on in that country. In short, the drug
cartels are overwhelming the government and taking control of most country
functions. They either directly control or have tremendous influence in certain
major sectors and cities and are expanding every
day.
The drug makers and dealers are using
extreme terrorist methods to intimidate and gain control over the legislature,
law enforcement and military. There are no areas or services which are out of
reach of this plague and infestation taking place south of our border. They
want to operate unimpeded and one method is to eliminate the opposition,
eliminate the law.
The resort areas are still
functional and of course welcome the rich gringo, but please don't be fooled.
At any moment the peace and commercialism of these favorite pleasure hot spots
can turn into dirty killing fields and the drug cartel enforcers could care
less if innocent travelers get hurt in the process.
You may be aware In the past year at least
two occurrences of the drug dealer enforcement violence spilled over across the
border into our state, which were reported in the news. There have been others,
from my reports as many as six, which were not reported in our local news media
or picked up by national news.
The enforcers
are relatively well armed and mission orientated. They move on orders which
specify which hits and whom they are to enforce upon. Sometimes this works and
sometimes there is collateral damage, meaning innocent people get hurt. As they
grow in force and run more operational missions the more their violence spills
out of the drug underworld and effects the population at large.
They aren't your common thugs. They did not
dream up their war like skills or learn from the movies or news papers. They
are being trained. They are being trained by some of the best terrorist in the
world. The same terrorist our service men and women are fighting in Afghanistan
and Iraq. They started off as small teams and as the teams grew in numbers so
has the capability of them putting larger units together. By some estimates
some groups are the size of small armies. And, they continue to train and
become better organized.
The latest
information I have estimates Mexico could within a very short period of months,
weeks, or even days, fall into collapse both financially and population
control. And if not having the capability to topple the country at this time
they are capable of taking large parts of the country and putting every
traveler at risk during what could be a bloody fight for control of the
country.
This past weekend many Americans
traveled to pleasure spots like Cancun and Rocky Point as they have done for
years, had a great time and returned safely. Please don't be fooled, this
safety could change in almost a heartbeat, like almost over night American
civilians could be caught in a cross fire of a civil war.
Make no mistake about it, the countrymen of
Mexico for the most part are unarmed and will provide no resistance to a force
like the drug cartels are forming. The cartels have the money for the arms and
the means for the training and lots of protected land to organize there forces.
They have infiltrated the government, the police and the military. If they are
not stopped, it is just a matter of time before they are strong enough to have
an effect and then it is just a matter of what and when the fire starts.
We may be on the eve of a civil war of sorts
right here in the United States, but the instability of Mexico makes it
extremely unsafe to travel there and I hope this post will effect any of your
thoughts of traveling south of Arizona for at least the near future of a year
or so, as we observe the progress of the federal and local governments
resistance to the drug cartel bent on taking over the country.
In the mean time we are surely going to have
more occurrences of the drug cartel enforcers coming across our southern border
to deal with their own kind who have fled to the US thinking they would escape
the wrath of the big bosses.
And, if Mexico
does fall to the cartels, we will have even more violent spills in Arizona, New
Mexico, Texas and California, as well as increase in illegal aliens crossing
our border trying to escape, which like always, includes criminals and
terrorist.
Even if Mexico does manage to live
through their crisis and the government some how overcomes the cartels, we
still run a constant daily border crossing of illegal aliens, criminals and
terrorist by the thousands!
Makes me think
maybe it is time to do a land search further north! But where would there be
any state in the 48 not already infested with illegal aliens, southern
criminals and terrorist?
